I’m a big fan of the classic cocktails with three or four equal parts – there’s such an appealing simplicity. The Negroni, the Last Word, the Naked and Famous. I’ve been tinkering for a few months after an unexpected free bottle of Grand Marnier, that seemed to blend well with Amaro Montenegro. The cocktail below, adding some punch from the maraschino and then balancing with lemon, worked best (although not quite equal parts!). Swapping the maraschino for tequila also works pretty well, if you’re in more of a boozy mood – the Riff-Raff is actually quite easy to drink. This could also work quite well made into a spritz by adding cava or prosecco.
